CAD Product Configurator – Assemble rack and pinion gear units easily

Until some time ago, requesting 3D CAD models from LEANTECHNIK involved a waiting period, as only large data packages could be downloaded. The product configurator now allows engineers to configure and download specifically the components they need for their project. This makes the design process even more efficient.

Whether in the office or on the road, engineers can use the configurator to configure a precision-fit rack and pinion gearboxes directly on the LEANTECHNIK website and download the associated CAD data. An interactive 3D preview shows what the gearbox will look like later. CAD models of our products are stored in the product configurator. They provide all the relevant information for planning our rack-and-pinion gear units in a machine or system. The CAD models can be downloaded with just a few clicks and then integrated into the respective design. The download portal is based on the PARTcommunity technology of the software manufacturer CADENAS GmbH.

The product configurator from CADENAS is an important step for us on the way to even better customer orientation. The tool is intended to make work easier for engineers, who depend on high-quality product models for their designs. “Nowadays, every engineer wants to be able to access data quickly, securely and reliably. Our customers are no exception,” says Sven Schürmann, Marketing at LEANTECHNIK. The “Product Configurator” project was jointly managed by the marketing and design departments at our company.

The download of a CAD model is possible in over 100 common native CAD formats – such as Autodesk® Inventor™, SolidWorks®, Siemens Solid Edge®, NX®, PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire® and Creo®, CATIA®. In addition, a PDF data sheet of the configured rack and pinion gear or accessory can be downloaded. This means that the designer always has it to hand in his project documents. The data sheet is also ideal for quickly exchanging information with other departments that do not have a license for CAD systems themselves.
